I started my internship on Monday. I love it. My first assignment was to look after a two year old boy who was going to be adopted later that day. Adorable kid! What a gunthroat!! Anyway I spent the entire afternoon talking to him. And how many interns can say that they got to meet Barbara Walters? She is doing a piece on one of our clients who is having an open adoption. This is going to be fun.

There were flurries today. What on Earth happened to Fall! I think we are going to bypass Fall altogether. I thought the weatherman was joking last night, when he mentioned flurries.
DOn't worry! I am not going to get into a nostalgic session about my first snowfall. Been there done that! Its stale news now! Although I must say that I do enjoy watching the snow fall. Hot chocolate days are back! Yippee!

I have my Comprehensive exam on the 11th of October. To add to that, I have a midterm before it adn one after that. So I have had my nose to the grindstone for the last couple of weeks. Anyway the other day I was sitting on my couch, tucked under my quilt , surrounded by papers and notes and my laptop on my lap. I heard a knock on the door but I wasn't sure. I thought I had imagined it because my roomie and I rarely get visitors after 10pm. So I just stayed where I was, assuming that the guys upstairs were expecting someone. I heard a knock again. This time I knew it was not my imagination. I was wondering how to get up from my cluttered, yet comfortable position. I called out for my roomie but she sometimes suffers from selective deafness, which in this case I was thankful for. I opened the door and some strange guy was standing there asking if he could come in and talk. I was like I don't even know you why would I let you in my house. Then he says, "I was wondering if any of my mail had come here." I thought, "You are a weird bird. Why would I have any of your mail?"

Monday,4th October, is just around the corner. Why am I excited about it? I finally start my internship, thats why!! It feels so good to say that after all these months of agony. I have only four more hours of internship to go...and I should be done with it by the end of the week.
I am going to be interning in a place called A Child's Waiting in Copley. It is an adoption agency. So I will be working with kids (like I wanted to)and their adoptive and foster families. It is going to be very challenging because most of these kids suffer from Attachment Disorders, Adjustment Disorders and the like. It is supposed to be a very reputable agency and they are very selective about who they take on. Everyone at the clinic is quite happy that I was selected. Quite frankly so am I!! My friend Julie is even happier because she is going to adopt a child in the next few months and as soon as she heard I was interning at Child she decided that that was where she wanted to intern as well. She feels it might give her more insight into the adoption process.
