Today is officially the first day of Fall. I heard someone saying that most Americans can't spell nor pronounce Autumn so they are more likely to just say Fall and attribute it to the fall of leaves from the trees also known as foliage. They were having a big debate, this morning, on the radio about whether foliage was pronounced "folly- ge" or "foil-i- age" or "falliage".
